Next week, October 18th, the Glen Eira Women’s Business Network has invited me to help their members see how they can use Pinterest to increase brand engagement and sales results. I’ll be discussing ideas on how to leverage the power of Pinterest and considering it is now the third most popular social network on the [...]

I had such an amazing time and met some really interesting people at this year’s Creative³ Forum in Brisbane. A big thank you to everyone involved, QUT Creative Enterprise Australia (CEA) and all those who attended. Here’s some highlights of my presentation and a review of the event from The Fetch. Photo credit : Brooke [...]

I’ll be MC at this fantastic event that’s all about style, beauty, canapés and friends!  It’s a day to get together with your gals, munch on some beautiful food, enjoy some Australian wines and get prepared for this year’s Spring Racing Carnival. There’ll be a mini catwalk show, tips on make-up and hair styling trends, find your perfect hat or headpiece from Myer ‘Fashions on the Field’ award winning milliners, all while being served a canapé style lunch. What more can a girl ask for?

10% of ticket sales are also being donated to the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute.

Join me on Friday 14th September, 12.30 to 3pm at The Harbour Room, Royal Melbourne Yacht Squadron, St. Kilda.

Full details on the event and to buy tickets.

I’m so excited to announce that I’ll be involved in this year’s amazing Creative 3 forum this 13th – 14th September! I’ll be doing a keynote address as well as running a workshop. For those running or wanting to run a creative business, this is the place to be.

It’s all about harnessing the power of 3 – creativity, investment and enterprise. With a hugely diverse range of speakers, come along and be inspired and come away with practical skills to help you put together social media strategy, generate a new business model and so much more.

I recently spoke at this year’s Professional eBay Sellers Alliance (PeSA) Internet Conference with the theme  “Multiple Channels. Multiple Opportunities” where I discussed Pinterest and the 3 main reasons why you should be using it: 1. Because it delivers more traffic and a higher spend to retailers than most social media sites 2. Because it [...]

The Western Bulldogs asked me to join their panel of industry experts at their Social Suite event “Tweet Up” in July, taking me into the inner sanctum of AFL.  We talked about how social media is being used in sport, for brands and how people hoping to make a career for themselves in social can [...]

Thanks to Trevor Young for this great article on calculating the return on investment (ROI) of content marketing.

The “soft” benets of content marketing are obvious: public trust, more engaged prospects, happier clients. But what about the hard benets. What about ROI?

That’s what this eBook explores. If you’re not familiar with the term, content marketing refers to any form of content (usually online) that generates leads for a business. This includes blog posts, podcasts, video, interviews, articles, announcements, infographics, whitepapers, ebooks and more. The basic premise of content marketing is that in an age when we are overloaded with advertisements, real information is everywhere online so we no longer need to rely on those ads for our information, which means that consumers are now more in control of how they spend their time and where they source their information.

This eBook gives some really great, al biet basic, tips and structures for the components of a content marketing based business, some guidelines around cost benchmarking and the expected benefits (or ROI) of this. It compares the costs of content marketing to paid search and the impacts on these costs over time. A really worthwhile download. Grab it now.

The Art of Immersion : How the Digital Generation Is Remaking Hollywood, Madison Avenue, and the Way We Tell Stories.

“People want to be immersed. They want to get involved in a story, to carve out a role for themselves, to make it their own. But how is the author supposed to accommodate them? What if the audience runs away with the story? And how do we handle the blur — not just between fiction and fact, but between author and audience, entertainment and advertising, story and game? A lot of smart people — in film, in television, in videogames, in advertising, in technology, even in neuroscience — are trying to sort these questions out.”

Disney is arguably one of the most creative organisations in the world, so how do they do it?  How do they innovate consistently and successfully?   With three different “rooms” and three “types of people”.  Really fascinating PDF that anyone who is seeking to create a culture of innovation and ideas should read.  Download it now.

How is New/Social Media transforming the landscape of Television? A great series is unfolding on Social Times. Can’t wait to know more? Download the full report.

The power of storytelling, particularly for persuasive situations, like sales, has now been scientifically proven.

There’s new brain scan evidence to shows a that when one person tells a story and the other actively listens, their brains actually begin to synchronise. Read the full article.
